Job Description

Step into a role where your playbook spans two powerhouse hotels, a booming airport district, and one of the most magnetic cities in the Southeast. As Area Director of Sales & Marketing for the Embassy Suites by Hilton Charleston Airport and Residence Inn by Marriott Charleston Airport/North Charleston, you’ll shape strategy across both a major convention-center Embassy and an extended-stay favorite, driving demand in a market fueled by business travel, leisure getaways, and all the charm Charleston is famous for. At Atrium Hospitality, you’re not just filling rooms—you’re building revenue stories, developing teams, and putting your stamp on a high-visibility portfolio with real runway for growth. If you’re the kind of commercial leader who loves owning the market, partnering closely with operations, and turning “what if” into “we did,” this is your next big stage.

What You Will Do:

  • Build and develop high-performing sales teams by leading recruiting, onboarding, and coaching efforts.
  • Drive proactive business development—both in-house and through our Enterprise Sales Organization—owning results and team productivity.
  • Lead strategy for weekly prospecting and ensure "Maximize the Hunt" efforts turn leads into loyal customers.
  • Collaborate with hotel leadership on pricing, marketing, and inventory strategies to grow revenue.
  • Oversee all things marketing—from printed menus to digital posts—ensuring every detail reflects the hotel’s brand and spirit.
  • Act as a strategic partner to multiple hotels, guiding their sales direction, mentoring DOSMs, and rolling up your sleeves when needed.

What We Are Looking For:

  • 5+ years of hotel or industry-related experience: You’ve lived (and loved) the sales cycle and know how to drive results.
  • 3+ years leading a sales or catering team: You know how to lead, not just manage—and your team loves you for it.
  • Experience across Group, Transient, and Event segments: Because versatility equals value.
  • Tech savvy with sales tools (e.g., Delphi.fdc, CI/TY, ProfitSword): These platforms are second nature, not stressors.
  • Great at reading people and rooms: Negotiation and organizational agility are your superpowers.

What Atrium Leadership Looks Like:

  • Accountable Achiever: You own your outcomes and your team’s.
  • Agile Thinker: You flex fast and adapt with purpose.
  • Talent Curator: You attract, grow, and champion top performers.
  • Transparent Leader: You say what you mean and follow through.
  • Leading with SPIRIT: Service. Perseverance. Inclusion. Respect. Innovation. Teamwork. It’s not just an acronym—it’s how we lead.

Why Atrium?
Hear it from Lindsay M, “ With the support of my Director, my General Manager and Task force Directors, I felt the motivation to push myself to a higher standard to grow and move up in my career."
