The Sheraton Norfolk Waterside Hotel, a beautiful waterfront property with 466 rooms and 46,000 square feet of versatile meeting space, is seeking an Assistant Director of Sales to provide support to our sales efforts.

What You Will Do

Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with brand and management company policies.

  • Assist with recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and training sales team members.

  • Lead and participate in daily and weekly sales meetings.

  • Support and motivate sales managers and hotel staff in achieving sales goals.

  • In the absence of the Director of Sales & Events, oversee daily sales office responsibilities.

  • Develop and implement SMART Plans for all direct sales market segments.

  • Conduct prospecting and outside sales calls to cultivate existing and new business.

  • Ensure timely and professional communication with clients through proposals, follow-ups, and event confirmations.

What We’re Looking For

  • At least five (5) years of hotel or industry-related experience.

  • Minimum of three (3) years in hotel catering, group sales, or event servicing (preferred).

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Hotel/Restaurant, or related field (preferred).

  • Experience with industry-specific sales programs such as Microsoft Office, Delphi.fdc, and/or CI/TY.

  • Some knowledge of ProfitSword forecasting (preferred).

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; less than 10% travel required.
