Sales Manager

Location: Bloomington-Normal Marriott Hotel & Conference Center
Reports to: Director of Sales and Marketing

Salary: $53,000/yr

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and engaging Sales Manager with experience in hotel or resort sales. This key role will proactively solicit room revenue, maximize existing accounts, and drive overall sales growth-while delivering an exceptional guest experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively solicit and secure business through effective sales strategies.

  • Actively up-sell services and amenities to maximize revenue opportunities.

  • Meet or exceed personal and team sales goals.

  • Ensure seamless turnover of confirmed business to the operations team.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients.

  • Navigate clients through the full sales cycle: qualification, negotiation, closing, and detailing.

  • Coordinate all event logistics with clients including space, time, equipment, menus, and billing.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of experience in Event Services, Banquets, Hotel Sales, Marketing, or a related role.

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent; 2+ years of college or equivalent professional experience preferred.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

  • Experience with Delphi, FDC, and/or Marriott CI/TY systems is a plus.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and follow-through.

  • A team-first attitude and passion for guest service excellence.
